Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 472


Vietnam Veterans of America, Inc. (VVA) is the only national Vietnam Veterans organization congressionally chartered and exclusively dedicated to Vietnam-era veterans and their families. VVA’s founding principle is, "Never again will one generation of veterans abandon another."

VVA Chapter 472 is the San Diego County chapter that serves this region's Vietnam-era Veterans for over twenty-five years.

Needs Statement

VVA does not receive any funding from federal, state, or local governments-it relies solely on private contributions for its revenue.

VVA's goals are to promote and support the full range of issues important to Vietnam Veterans, to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans. We do this by:

VVA 472 is part of VVA as a whole. VVA is a national organization, over 70,000 members strong. There are 48 state councils, and 650 local chapters.

Locally, VVA 472 host a yearly rummage sale, has a continued sale of Chapter T-shirts and Polo shirts that promote and generates awareness, pride, and some income for the Chapter.

VVA 472 intends to launch an online shop to sell small pins, t-shirts, and patches.
